PLA or Polylactic Acid is a thermoplastic polymer derived from natural sugars, produced from annually renewable 100% resources, and therefore has zero environmental impact.

It is a thermoplastic material belonging to the family of aliphatic polyesters, with properties similar to polyester and PET.

This material has excellent resistance to oils and greases and to many chemicals.

The outstanding feature of PLA is that it is 100% biodegradable and compostable.

When abandoned, PLA degrades without leaving any pollutants in 15 months if left on the ground, 24 months if buried, 48 months in water.
